Lightning strikes St. Peters Basilica hours after the Pope announced resignation
AFP was the first to publish the startling photo of a lightning bolt
coming out of the heavens and appearing to strike the dome of St.
Peter's Basilica, one of Catholicism's holiest sites. AFP photographer
Filippo Monteforte caught the amazing photograph during a storm.
"It was icy cold and the rain was falling in sheets," he told AFP. "When the storm started, I thought that lightning might strike the rod, so I decided it was worth seeing whether – if it DID strike – I could get the shot at exactly the right moment.”He waited two hours before lightning struck twice and he captured a still image. “The first bolt was huge and lit up the sky, but unfortunately I missed it," he told AFP. "I had better luck the second time, and was able to snap a couple of images of the dome illuminated by the bolt.” (Huffington Post)

TERROR IN RUN!
Culled from The Nation
Adeleye said: “A student was caught with an illicit drug. He mentioned others involved and we took them to the school clinic for tests. Some of them tested positive.”
But some of the affected students said the university authority never told them the purpose of the test and did not show them the results.
“I only saw in the expulsion letter that I tested positive to hard drugs. I asked for the result of the test, but they didn’t show me. Even if they won’t show it to me, they should at least show my parents the result,” said one of the expelled students, who preferred anonymity.
The affected students complained about the expulsion and the fact that they were not given a fair hearing.
“They should have at least set up a panel of enquiry and if the panel finds us guilty, so be it,” another student said.
On the results of the tests, Mr. Adeleye said: “There is no need to show the students the results because the university cannot conspire against them.”
Adeleye defended the institution’s decision, saying the expelled students are guilty–in line with the school’s religious norms.
He said: “Nobody should think anybody hates those students. It’s not spurious. In fact, it is even painful for us because we are losing revenue by sending them away. But it’s a painful decision we must take in our quest to raise students that will transform the world. The expelled students are those that refused the university’s lifeline of a second chance.
“We wanted to help them. The university has a programme designed to help them live a normal life, but they rejected the offer. A few of them accepted and they are undergoing the programme.”
Adeleye was evasive when asked if the school’s clinic was capable of testing urine samples for hard drugs.
On why the students were not handed over to the narcotics agency since their offence was a criminal act, Adeleye said the school was neither the police nor the narcotics agency and had no reason to do so.
He later told The Nation that the Vice-Chancellor was considering a review of the matter.
The expulsion of 28 students by Redeemer University for allegedly failing drug tests has sparked a big row. The tests were conducted last November for 42 students, who were asked to go for “routine tests”.
After resumption this year, some of them were told that they “tested positive” and last Friday, some of those who “tested positive” got expulsion letters; others got theirs on Monday. The institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Adetunji Adeleye, said the decision was taken in line with the school’s values and philosophy “to raise godly children”, but the students are alleging unfairness.

IS MAJEK FASHEK MAD?
Majek Fashek is suffering from Schizophrenia according to the doctors
taking care of him and his condition is getting really bad. Since he
disappeared over the holidays and reappeared in January, he has been
uncontrollable. People close to him said he overdid the drugs this time
around and his mental illness has deteriorated seriously. People around
his neighborhood in Gowon Estate Ipaja now avoid him like a plague. He
walks around talking to himself and sometimes sits at a bus stop around
his area playing his guitar while little kids make fun of him. To stop
him from roaming around, and maybe hurting himself, sometimes people who
care for him chain him at his Ipaja home, especially when he gets
really out of control.
“I Am Closer To 40 Now, Single With No Child. I Am Seeking – Olu Maintain
In an Interview he said……
“I am closer to 40 now, single and with no child. Before now, my career has been my wife and companion and that makes it necessary for me to start prioritising. It will be a safe assumption now to say I am seeking for something that is missing in my life.
“There is no woman in my life now but I am working towards it….
“I just want my woman to love me and love what I do. I am not attaching any physical attributes to it because that eventually will go away. It’s better to fall in love with someone because that lasts forever. My parents have been married for 43 years.”Hope he finds one soon.

Reveal – How Wizkid & Banky Turned Against Each Other
The split between Banky W and Wizkid, inside sources say, resulted from an alleged high difference in what Banky W gets from revenues made by the young star, Wizkid.
The ‘injustice’, according to what we gathered, has been bothering Wizkid until he summoned the courage to ask for an improved contract from Banky W, which hit him (Banky) by surprise.
“You know Wizkid is the backbone of EME music label. The boy (Wizkid) feels that Banky W has been milking too much from him with the large chunk of what Banky W takes from what the boy makes.
“Wizkid has asked for an improved contract because the present one allocates much of Wizkid’s earnings to Banky W. You know when you are coming up, you sign any kind of deal because you just want to climb stardom. “That is the situation the boy finds himself but Banky felt hurt that Wizkid could ask for an improved offer after what he (Banky W) has done for him.
“This was the beginning of the problem between them. The boy even threatened to leave the label sometimes ago but Banky W felt it was a joke. He took it with a pinch of salt. Now, he is at a crossroad and confused on what to do,” a source said Wizkid’s mum waded into the matter but Wizkid reportedly ignored his mum advice and stood his ground on leaving the label.
“Wizkid’s mum has also tried to talk sense to her son but it seems the guy (Wizkid) is bent on moving on with his life.”

L.O.S release “Bad Guy P” Remix
L.O.S has released the remix of their well-received single, “Bad Guy P”.
The rework features Nigerian hip-hop and R&B sensation, Banky W,
and Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, who both made serious waves in the music
scene all throughout last year. Though L.O.S. recently split from their
former record label Bankhead and formed their own, the change in
management doesn’t seem to have affected the quality or style of music
they’re releasing.
